Tasty organic food and hugzz are a warm combo

If you are a Vancouverite and have not discovered Organic Lives raw organic foods restaurant ( you need to check it out soon.

Today Joan and I went there for supper after making hugzz all day and had a lovely chat with the owner Preet. Preet was very seriously ill as a teenager with colitis and put himself on an organic raw diet which totally cured him. Since then he has been dedicated to learning as much as he could about high quality healing foods and now has this fabulous restaurant at the corner of Quebec and 2nd with the freshest most flavourful dishes you can imagine. They make your taste buds sing!

We sold him three dozen of our hugzz in a woman-hugging bowl I had made, with a lovely sign Joan had made. They were on the counter no more than a minute and one sold!

So we got to enjoy his incredible food and he is enjoying having the hugzz in his restaurant, as it is such a welcoming place that people hug each other there often.

Hugzz gearing up for Christmas

What better item to hang on your tree in a little gift bag than a hug!

We just returned from Starfire Gallery in Horseshoe Bay ( and they have luscious clothing and jewelry and artwork of all types and lots of brown and white hugzz, as we just delivered another 3 dozen to them. Their store is so welcoming and warm that they are perfect people to pass hugs around. Check them out. It is a beautiful drive and a lovely little community.

From Vancouver to Holland and Back, with Love

We just got a comment to the news that hugzz had arrived in Holland and it is magical! Daphne wrote to say that she met her boyfriend in Vancouver and his mom had sent with him a hugzz from Isabelle’s store in Holland! How cool is that?

These hugzz go where love is, and it seems especially synchronistic that a hug has travelled all the way to Holland and turned around and ended back here in Vancouver where it was created with love!

When Thanksgiving rolls around, I really like to think about giving thanks. It’s great if we have family to share a feast and good times with and be thankful for the closeness but even those who are far from home, or have no family can find other people in the same boat to share food and companionship with. Sharing is so important. It’s a form of hugging another.

Sometimes we get pretty focused on all the ‘to-dos’ under our nose and forget to smile and say thank you for simple things. I like the way people riding the buses in Vancouver usually say “thanks” to the bus driver when they get off at their stop.

It really is the little things that mean a lot.

Hugzz are in Holland!!

Hugzz love The Hague

Hugging The Hague

hugzz have arrived in Den Haag (The Hague) Holland where Joan is studying to be an Art Therapist. They are now at

The Earth Collection
Molenstraat 49
2513 BJ Den Haag

owner: Isabelle Weber

The Earth Collection is the first store in Europe to be selling our hugzz! We are very excited. We have envisioned these little peace and comfort symbols going around the world because, of course, hugs know no boundaries. The Earth Collection is full of beautiful colours and fabrics and the owner Isabelle is a wonderful woman, whom Joan enjoys great conversations with.

So the next time you are in The Hague, be sure to drop in and see Isabelle’s wonderful shop and leave with a wonderful new garment and a hug to carry in your pocket on your further travels.
